This is not a repair log. It’s a teaser of an upcoming product: Marty Power Banchou, a newly designed drop-in PSU for Fujitsu FM Towns Marty. If you live in a 220-240V world, or you have a failed internal power supply due to capacitor degradation or leaking, this will be your right choice.
All you need is a 12V DC power brick(2.5A rated or above is recommended) with a 2.1mm or 2.5mm barrel plug. A screw driver to open up the case. And a little patience.
Current Progress
The v0.1 prototype is done. Found one small issue but all other key aspects are done right. The power board runs cool, with the actual DC power brick runs slightly warm during stress test.
I’ll further make sure it fits the two variants of Marty. Once that’s done, the next version of the PCB will be ordered and that should be the final product.
